During the month of August, we are shining our monthly product spotlight on cleaning kits!
The inevitable time has come that summer vacation is coming to an end. It's never long enough, is it? And there's nothing worse than the rush of the start of the school year, or the rush to bring on new staff in the fall.
We recognize that for most organizations, card printing is not a daily occurrence. For many organizations, it is used on an as-needed basis, as new hires are brought on to the team. Whereas for schools, mountain resorts, and other organizations, card printing takes place seasonally. Which means your card printer has been sitting idly by for the past few months (even up to a year!). As it sits, your printer can fill with dust and debris. If you are interested in how important cleaning your printer really is, check out our blog on the importance of cleaning your printer! The bottom line is, your printer relies on regular maintenance to maintain proper functionality and print quality.
So if your printer has been sitting since last printing season, it's time to give it a thorough cleaning. The last thing you want is for your printer to jam in the middle of a print job, causing you unnecessary stress.
Cleaning your printer is easy, and each printer is cleaned differently. Therefore, cleaning kits are individual to each printer. Whether your printer only needs cleaning cards, or perhaps a kit with cards and cleaning swabs, we have all of the supplies that you need. You can find which supplies you need in the user manual that came with your printer.
Once you have supplies, you can also find cleaning instructions in your user manual. Those instructions will run you through everything that you need to know. From removing supplies, to starting the cleaning cycle, and perhaps even how to hand wash certain components, such as the sticky rollers in the EDIsecure XID 8300. Many printer companies have also created instructional videos on how to clean their printers (which can be found on YouTube!) to help visual learners run through a cleaning cycle.
